Die Plattform VBCI MK2 (oder PHILOCTETES für die griechische Version) ist eine verbesserte Version des 8x8 Infanterie-Kampffahrzeugs, das bereits in der französischen Armee im Einsatz ist. Das VBCI MK 2 IFV integriert einen40 mm ferngesteuerten Turm und eine Akeron MP-Panzerabwehrrakete. Es deckt ein breites Spektrum von Bedrohungenab, von leichten Fahrzeugen bis hin zu Hauptkampfpanzern, einschließlich Selbstverteidigungsfähigkeiten gegen UAVsund leichte Flugzeuge.
VBCI MK2 ist die neueste Weiterentwicklung des kampferprobten französischen Infanterie-Kampffahrzeugs.
Als einziges natives IFV hat sich VBCI in zahlreichen Kampfeinsätzen bewährt und ist zum Hauptkampfsystem derfranzösischen Armee geworden. Die MK2-Version nutzt die Lehren aus diesen Einsätzen, um wesentlicheVerbesserungen zu bieten.
Dank der 60° Höhenlage der Kanone und der neuen Anti-Aerial Air Burst Munition wird die RCT40 in der Lage sein, zurCounter-UAV-Fähigkeit beizutragen.
