Thanks to its light weight and compact size, the NARWHAL®20, a fully stabilized remotely controlled naval weapon station, is ideally suited for use on small craft, fast patrol boats, for maritime surveillance, sea police interception missions and for self-defence of OPVs, frigates, logistics support vessels for countering and neutralizing both conventional and asymmetric threats.

The NARWHAL®20 provides superior firepower with significantly higher effective range than those of heavy machine guns and is definitely a cost effective alternative to greater medium caliber versions.

The NARWHAL®20 has been developed around the 20M621 cannon which is well known for its high accuracy, for simplicity (operation and maintenance) and which fires the 20mm x 102 NATO standard ammunition.

The effectiveness and reliability of the NARWHAL®20 have been widely proven on various boats.

Operational versatility

The NARWHAL®20, equipped with a 20mm cannon (type 20M621), is designed for various missions.

The 20mm provides sufficient lethality and range for all missions from self-protection, dissuasion, to the combat of acts of piracy, smuggling and terrorist activities.

Multi-platform compatibility

The NARWHAL®20 is well-suited to naval forces (marines, coastal defence, maritime police) for use on board patrol boats, OPVs, corvettes or new and/or retrofitted frigates.

Thanks to its compactness, lightness and low stresses induced at the carrier interfaces (similar to those of 0.50 heavy machine gun), the NARWHAL®20 design allows easy integration, with no deck penetration, in all types of naval platforms

Focused firepower

With a high firing rate (750 rounds/min) and a 20mm calibre, it delivers effective neutralization capability for naval and aerial targets, balancing precision and impact.

Ease of installation and maintenance

• The NARWHAL®20 can easily be interfaced with existing ship surveillance radar/combat management system allowing automatic slewing to target (target designation).
• The NARWHAL®20 uses the 20M621 gas-reloaded gun, well known for its simple operation and maintenance, firing the widely available NATO 20 x 102 standard ammunition.

On board ammunition capacity

The NARWHAL®20 has a storage system capable of holding up to 200 rounds, providing significant firing autonomy for extended missions without frequent reloading.
