Germany Procures RCH 155 Wheeled Howitzers from KNDS

Munich, December 19, 2025 - The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) will introduce 84 RCH 155 wheeled howitzers for which KNDS Deutschland has received an order from ARTEC*. The order is based on a framework agreement between the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) and ARTEC for a total of 500 RCH 155 systems, which can also be procured by other nations.

This order also includes training equipment, service, and logistical support, with a total value of approximately €1.2 billion.

The RCH 155 armored wheeled howitzer combines the firepower and effective range of the unmanned, fully automated, and remote-controlled artillery gun module (AGM) with the high level of protection and mobility of the combat proven BOXER wheeled armoured vehicle. The RCH 155 is the only system worldwide capable of conducting combat while moving.

As a systematic further development based on the PzH 2000, the RCH 155 possesses all the functionalities of a modern artillery system, with the highest level of crew protection.

This system completes the newly established "Medium Forces" and will be the primary artillery weapon system of this new force category within the German Army.
