Our Foundation: The Code of Conduct
Responsible action based on common values. Our Code of Conduct lays the foundation for our cooperation. It sets clear standards for ethics, human rights, fair work conditions, environmental protection and fair competition. We expect our partners to share these values.
Responsible action along the entire value chain has the highest priority for KNDS Deutschland and all of its subsidiaries. Within the scope of sustainable procurement, we in Purchasing distinguish between supply chain compliance and material compliance.
Supply chain compliance covers the entire evolution process. In it, we actively ensure that all companies and actors involved along our entire supply chain uphold the applicable laws, regulatory requirements and strict ethical and social standards.
Material compliance ensures the conformity of our products. It addresses strict compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and standards which govern the save use of materials and substances. With these two dimensions, we unite product quality with active entrepreneurial responsibility.
Supply chain compliance: Human rights & environmental protection
Compliance with labour and human rights as well as strict environmental standards along the value chain is an essential component of strategic supplier relations. In this connection, we concentrate on a cooperative yet stringent ESG risk management policy.
- Putting values into practice together: We identify supply chain risks early on and work with our suppliers as partners in order to implement potentials for optimisation and actively prevent risks.
- Consistent participation: We expect seamless and dependable legwork from our partners to ensure a transparent and secure supply chain.
- Decarbonisation: We endeavour to continuously improve the basis for data on our emissions. Our goal is to successively enable our suppliers to provide valid data on emissions all the way to a detailed product carbon footprint (PCF).
- Digital transparency: We make use of specialised software solutions to efficiently ensure supply chain compliance.
Material Compliance
The protection of the individuals who depend on our mission solutions in training and operations is the top priority for KNDS Deutschland and all of its subsidiaries. What this means for us is not only dependability under extreme conditions, but also health safety in handling the products. This is where material compliance management at KNDS Germany and all of its subsidiaries comes into play. Each material used must be procured in such a way that the people who work with and on the systems are protected in their daily work.
Comprehensive material compliance serves not only to protect people, but also to protect the environment. Knowledge of the substances used can reduce the environmental impact over the life cycle of the product. Transparency enables better waste management and creates potential for the recycling economy.

In order to ensure this, we have binding guidelines in place to ensure compliance with all legal requirements. In addition to transparent information on social and environmental standards, we expect our suppliers to provide product-related material data and declarations of conformity to ensure compliance over the course of the business relationship.
