Cyber incident
11.12.23 Versailles
An analysis carried out at the beginning of 2023 in conjunction with the French National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI) revealed the compromise of external network computing equipment, operated by a third party, used for our messaging system.
The identified compromise led to the exfiltration of certain e-mails exchanged between some employees of Nexter, company of KNDS, and their external correspondents. The measures immediately implemented by the company put an end to this partial interception, which lasted several months. The confidentiality of the sensitive information encrypted during the exchanges has not been compromised.
The functioning of the information system has not been affected, all the company's activities have been operating normally since and no specific action or operational measure are necessary either on the part of employees or their correspondents, apart from continuing to apply good practices relating to the use of electronic messages.

Legal proceedings at Nexter's initiative are underway, a declaration has been made to the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) and all sensitive partners have already been directly informed.
Nexter regrets this incident, and its teams have been fully mobilized alongside ANSSI and the relevant French government authorities to carry out the necessary investigations and take the appropriate remedial measures.
However, fully aware of any questions that may arise, Nexter is making the following e-mail address available to staff and external correspondents: information.cyber@knds.fr.
