The Dutch Armed Forces rely on the mobility of the FENNEK LRAT.
The FENNEK owes its outstanding performance to an optimal combination of reconnaissance capability, mobility, maneuverability and stealth. The three-man crew - driver, commander and system operator - can operate self-sufficiently for five days. Equipment, supplies, drinking water and food are carried in the vehicle. Air-portable on the C-130 and A400M, the FENNEK can be quickly and easily deployed to distant areas. With a total weight of up to 12 t, the FENNEK can easily negotiate gradients in excess of 60% and slopes in excess of 35%. It has a turning circle of 13 m and can ford water at a depth of 1 m.
An automatic tire pressure control system allows the vehicle to be perfectly adapted to ground conditions. The powerful engine is complemented by selectable or permanent four-wheel drive, a fully automatic manual transmission and a transfer case. The H-drive allows for a low profile and low center of gravity, ensuring excellent maneuverability even on difficult terrain. The use of the latest engine technology gives the FENNEK a range of almost 1,000 km.
