The light towed 105mm gun is particulary adapted to rapid deployement units. Lightness, ruggedness and ease of handling are its major operational qualities. In operation, the 105 LG1 has proven its unequalled reliability, mobility, manoeuvrability under all climatic conditions. Today, it is the ideal weapon of its category for direct support of infantry. Much lighter than any of these competitors, and able to be manned by 3 personnel, the 105 LG is the weapon of choice for airmobile operations.
FACTS ABOUT THE 105LG
105 LG1 is a concentrate of high end technology in gunnery and is the lightest 105mm howitzer in the world. Its rate of fire is twice as fast as any competitors at any angle. Its state of the art ergonomics allows it to be manned by a crew of three, and still retain its very fast performances in and out of action. Its rapidity to get in and out of action is partly due to the autonomous orientation capacity thanks to the INU and GPS, and its outstanding computerised aide to lay the gun.
The rate of fire, the ability to be manned by three, and the fact that it is lighter by 200 kg than the lightest of its competitors combine to make it the ideal 105 for heliborne and airborne operations. Its fast in and out of action performances make it unnecessary to mount it on a vehicle. Thus, it retains its discretion and is a less easy target to strike for loitering munitions while on the move. 105 LG has proved very effective under all and extreme climes.
