KNDS UK

Over a century of engineering expertise and innovation.

Operating on the same site since 1917, KNDS UK is an established world-leader in rapidly deployable military bridging systems for use in the military and for various disaster relief scenarios.

We are proud of our heritage and our reputation of providing the highest quality engineering solutions, designed, developed and manufactured at our UK site near Manchester.

Capabilities

Our range of rapidly deployable mobile bridging systems - the Medium Girder Bridge and the Dry Support Bridge - provide unrestricted manoeuvrability and interoperability, can be deployed in minutes and are used by coalition forces on operations worldwide and in civilian aid operations for humanitarian relief in disaster zones, currently in service with the British Army, U.S. Army and many other NATO forces around the world.

Manually built and semi-automated bridge variants are available, offering up to 120 MLC and integrated onto a variety of both tracked and wheeled military vehicle platforms. We are a long-established Prime Contractor to both the UK Ministry of Defence and U.S Department of Defense, operating a global sales network through overseas representatives, and working directly with international governments and Non-Governmental Organisations.

Following a contract signing with ARTEC - a joint venture between KNDS and Rheinmetall - we were selected as the KNDS UK footprint for the manufacture of Boxer Armoured Vehicles for the British Army to deliver an outstanding level of UK local content.

BOXER VEHICLES

KNDS UK has been selected as the KNDS UK footprint for the Boxer Programme and will deliver an outstanding level of UK local content. KNDS UK will undertake the fabrication of the armoured vehicle structures together with the assembly, integration and test of the complete vehicles at our newly constructed state-of-the-art Boxer armoured vehicle manufacturing facility in Stockport, Greater Manchester. So far, more than 800 vehicles in various configurations have been supplied to, or ordered by, three NATO nations – Germany, the Netherlands and Lithuania – as well as Australia.
