RCH 155 TRACKED – Future indirect fire

As a systematic modular approach, the RCH 155 TRACKED is a light, flexible, and long-range artillery system for all relevant mission scenarios requiring tracked mobility, providing very high protection for the crew.

Ammunition resupply concept

A KNDS ammunition supply container (ISO 20-foot) was realized based on customer requirements to resupply artillery systems quickly, easily and ergonomically. The container is designed for safe storage and transportation of different ammunition (shells, charges, fuzes, etc.) in various packages following the customer’s logistic processes.

A special lightweight crane with a patented 155mm shell-gripper enables the crew to handle heavy load under safe ergonomic conditions. The distance betwen the container and the artillery system is covered by a mobile work platform to resupply the charges into the propellant magazine.

Further stowage space is provided for e.g. smoke grenades, 7.62 mm ammunition, primers and other supplies.

The KNDS ammuniton supply system stores more than 60 shells and 288 modular charges and thus can completely resupply 2 AGM systems as well as other artillery systems. This logistics system is suitable for all trucks that have an ISO twist lock interface for 20-foot containers and can also be used for rail transport. An optional hydraulic loading platform on the rear of the container enables an easy pick up of ammunition pallets from the ground.
