Leclerc XLR

Since its first entry into service, the Leclerc has included many features and capabilities that other main battle tanks are just beginning to integrate, making him the first 3rd generation battle tank.

Through its modernization as part of the SCORPION program, the Leclerc tank is modernized to strengthen even further its operational capability and make it even better tomorrow. After modernization, the tank is known as the Leclerc XLR.

FACTS ABOUT THE LECLERC XLR

The Leclerc MBT has been built around the fire on the move capability thanks to its autoloader, its exceptional fire control electronics, its powerful electical drive and high end actuators which stabilize the turret and the main gun in any condition.

The XLR will integrate a new generation panoramic sight which will enhance its day & night observation capability and provide it with unmatched observation and targetting capabilities. In addition, the protection has been optimized through the integration of an anti-IED jammer system, anti-RPG 360° protection and mine protection.

SYSTEMS

The tank is equipped with a powerful main gun capable of firing programmable ammunition, supported by an advanced turret control system and additional secondary armaments for versatile combat capability.

Mobility

With a high power-to-weight ratio, advanced suspension, and powerful engine, the tank demonstrates exceptional speed and agility across varied terrains, maintaining operational efficiency day and night.

Survivability

Designed and upgraded for modern warfare, the Leclerc XLR features modular armor, and close-range defense systems, as well as countermeasures against RPGs, mines, and IEDs to ensure maximum protection in all combat scenarios.
